Leeches are among the most common enemy types on Atlas. They are long and serpentine, with large toothed mouths similar to the real creature they were named after. They use the same movement system as the player, so they can squeeze through holes and vault walls. They come in different subspecies, each with different skill sets and roles.
Leech Archetypes[]
Yellow[]
'Grunt' Leeches. They do not have any special attributes.
Orange[]
'Fighter' Leeches. These Leeches deal extra damage. They also seem to jump when they attack. This is unconfirmed to be a bug or a feature.
Blue[]
'Runner' Leeches. These Leeches have an increased run speed.
Green[]
'Alpha' Leeches. These are stronger Leeches that are able to take on multiple foes, thanks to their increased hit points.
Gameplay[]
Fort Defense[]
Leeches increase in power, speed, and defense as the waves go on. They will ruthlessly pursue players, and will try to inflict as much damage upon tiles and the Vat as they can. They can be a serious threat after many rounds, and turrets are highly recommended. They have a tendency to catapult their corpses into their target after death, and due to the nature of StarForge, all fast-moving objects can damage targets. This means that a leech essentially becomes a projectile after death, capable of reducing a fort to ruins. This becomes more apparent as waves go on, and leeches become even faster, and therefore, more deadly projectiles.
Creative[]
Leeches do not spawn in creative.
Survival[]
Leeches will spawn nearby to players and will spawn more frequently at night.
