The Ground Pounder belongs to the Starting Equipment as it is the tier 1 Drill. It is a fast and the most inefficient drill at mining and harvesting, deals the lowest melee damage per second, and is the only Drill that works jerky. It also cannot harvest many higher-end materials such as Voltronic Ore, Saltex Ore, Garrison Ore, Crystalis Ore and Dark Matter Shale.
Because of that it is normally the first goal of any player to get the next tier 2 drill, the Titanium Drill.
