StarForge official dedicated server support was released September 18, 2014.
Starting a Server[ | ]
- Locate your StarForge game client usually located at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\StarForge
- Click the StartServer.bat. A window will open that says the server was started.
- Make sure you are port forwarded properly. You can change the port in /Configuration/ServerSettings.cfg. (default: 7250) (Router Firewall Setup)
Force Stop of all Servers[ | ]
- Locate your StarForge game client usually located at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\StarForge
- Click the StopAllServers.bat
Stopping an Individual Server[ | ]
- This is not available yet, however you may stop individual servers by ending the process in the Task Manager (CTRL + SHIFT + DEL).
Saving your Server[ | ]
- The server saves every 5 minutes automatically.
Starting Multiple Servers[ | ]
- This is not currently officially supported. It is, however, still possible but not in any way user-friendly.
- Tip: The ServerSettings.cfg has a port number. You can make copies of the game files.
Updating a Server[ | ]
- After updating the game client on steam you can use the files located (usually) at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\StarForge
- Replace all the files from your build folder. (Except maybe the /Configuration folder)
Platforms[ | ]
- Currently StarForge is only supported on Windows.
