Version 1.0[]

StarForge official dedicated server support was released September 18, 2014.

Starting a Server[]

  1. Locate your StarForge game client usually located at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\StarForge
  2. Click the StartServer.bat. A window will open that says the server was started.
  3. Make sure you are port forwarded properly. You can change the port in /Configuration/ServerSettings.cfg. (default: 7250) (Router Firewall Setup)

Force Stop of all Servers[]

  1. Locate your StarForge game client usually located at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\StarForge
  2. Click the StopAllServers.bat

Stopping an Individual Server[]

  1. This is not available yet, however you may stop individual servers by ending the process in the Task Manager (CTRL + SHIFT + DEL).

Saving your Server[]

  • The server saves every 5 minutes automatically.

Starting Multiple Servers[]

  • This is not currently officially supported. It is, however, still possible but not in any way user-friendly.
  • Tip: The ServerSettings.cfg has a port number. You can make copies of the game files.

Updating a Server[]

  • After updating the game client on steam you can use the files located (usually) at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\StarForge
  • Replace all the files from your build folder. (Except maybe the /Configuration folder)

Platforms[]

  • Currently StarForge is only supported on Windows.
